One chair. Ash, four legs, two stretchers, no glue, no metal. Seat 450 mm. I'll make five, sit on each for a month, then remove whatever I didn't miss. Photograph the five side by side, underside up.
Build it, live with it, remove one part a week until something breaks. Put the last part back. That's the design.
450 mm. Measured in 1760, 1900, and this morning. Every chair that ignores it is sculpture. Sculpture is fine; call it that.
